2. What this policy covers

This policy covers visitors to my website, people who contact me or book a discovery call, and shop customers. If you go on to become a coaching or supervision client, my Client Privacy Notice explains how I look after the information you share in our work together.

3. What I collect

Information you give me:

  • Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (if given) and your message.
  • Discovery call bookings: your name, email address, phone number and the time you choose.
  • Shop orders: your name, email address, billing address and what you bought. Payment card details are handled by Stripe or PayPal. I never see or store them.

Information collected automatically:

  • Technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit.
  • Cookies and similar tools: see section 5. Analytics and advertising cookies are only used if you accept them.

Please don't include detailed personal or health information in the contact form. We can talk about that safely on a call.

4. How I use your information

  • To reply to your enquiry or arrange a discovery call. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, or steps you've asked me to take before a contract.
  • To process and deliver shop orders. Lawful basis: contract.
  • To keep financial records for tax. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
  • To keep the website secure and working. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
  • To understand how visitors use the site, and to measure my Facebook and Instagram advertising. Lawful basis: your consent, given through the cookie banner.

I don't send marketing emails, and I never sell your information.

5. Cookies and tracking

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept cookies. You can accept or decline, and change your mind at any time by clearing cookies in your browser.

  • Essential cookies: needed for the website, shop and bookings to work. These are always on.
  • Google Analytics (only if you accept): shows me how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found the site. I use this only to improve the website.
  • Meta Pixel (only if you accept): tells me whether my Facebook and Instagram adverts lead people to the website, and lets Meta show my adverts to people who have visited. Meta may link this to your Facebook or Instagram account under its own privacy policy.

You can also manage advertising preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.

6. Who I share information with

I only share information with services that help me run the website and shop:

  • 123-Reg (part of GoDaddy): hosts the website, shop, booking system and my email.
  • Stripe and PayPal: process shop payments.
  • Google: website analytics, if you accept cookies.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram): advertising measurement, if you accept cookies.
  • Zanda Health: my practice management system, if you go on to become a client.

I may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone from serious harm.

7. Information sent outside the UK

Some of these services, including Google, Meta, Stripe and PayPal, may process information in the United States or elsewhere. Where they do, it is protected by UK-approved safeguards, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

8. How long I keep information

  • Enquiries and discovery call bookings that don't lead to work: 12 months, then deleted.
  • Shop orders: at least 5 years after the 31 January Self Assessment deadline for that tax year, as HMRC requires.
  • Analytics data: up to 14 months, under my Google Analytics settings.

If you become a client, my Client Privacy Notice explains how long I keep your records.

9. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • see the information I hold about you (I reply within 1 month, free of charge)
  • ask me to correct anything inaccurate
  • ask me to delete your information, where the law allows
  • object to, or ask me to limit, how I use your information
  • withdraw your consent to cookies at any time

To use any of these rights, email hello@jeffdawson.co.uk.

If you're unhappy with how I handle your information, please tell me first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

10. Children and young people

This website is intended for adults. I work with young people aged 12 to 17 only through arrangements made with a parent or carer. If you're under 16, please ask a parent or carer to contact me on your behalf.

11. Changes to this policy

I review this policy every April, and whenever I change the tools on my website. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
